What Are the Do's and Don'ts of Home Based Jobs?
Here are some tips on the do's and don'ts for aspiring home based businessmen in the making.
Tip 1: Whenever you're talking to or dealing with another person, you must be able to convince that person that you're just like any other regular business person out there. As such, you must speak in the manner at a similar level as them.
Tip 2: Make sure that your home is free from sounds and noises from a typical home environment. Whenever you're on the phone, make sure the music is not playing; your doorbell does not ring; dogs barking; kids playing; or the nagging voice of your spouse to be heard. When there are such noises, people would assume that you're simply not serious enough for that certain business dealing, or that you're simply not disciplined enough. Be sure to show the person on the other side of the phone your respect.
Tip 3: Always make sure that you return the phone calls which you've scheduled. Follow-up calls are important to give the impression that you're serious and really mean business. Things would get done faster this way.
Tip 4: Send a simple handwritten thank you note to all the potential customers you've approached. Though this may be out of practice in this wireless age, it's amazing how simple things such as these would help you close a business deal. Even if things do not go well, they would've felt your sincerity and keep things open.
Though these tips may be small and simple gestures, the results may be surprisingly huge.
