How to Save Money and Lose Weight at the Same Time
What do most people usually complain about--not enough money and the need to lose weight. Well you can actually fix both at the same time. The two areas that work together is food and activities.
I'm in the process of losing some weight by counting my calories. I've always ate a lot of fruit and vegetables, which are healthy but expensive, I'm willing to continue that. But when I go grocery shopping I usually get "treats." I've cut those out because they don't fit into my calorie intake. So I'm saving a few bucks when I go to the grocery store, which will probably save me $80 - $150 per month.
If you eat out, don't get an appetizer or a drink, just have water. Right there, that will save you some money and calories. If you're already doing that, go for menu items that are simpler and lighter, most likely they will be lower in calories and less expensive.
To save money and lose weight with an activity, go for a walk. This keeps you out of the house and away from food at home and it keeps you from going to the store out of boredom. If it's winter you can go to the mall to walk, but make a rule and stick to it, that you are going there to walk and not shop. Sure do some window shopping but don't spend any money.
The point of doing activities is it gets you out of the house and away from food and gets you moving to burn calories. I'm not saying you need to take up a new sport, think of interesting places to explore and go for a walk there.
This sounds very simple and it is and it works.
