Don't consider how you are going to pay back the loan.
If you aren't prepared to make a radical change to your spending habits you are headed in only one direction - bankruptcy. Consider carefully before you apply for that simple, quick loan.
Don't consider the actual cost of the loan.
Find out what the total cost of the loan will be - including the interest and other charges. You may well be shocked - good - now you can consider some other alternatives.
Don't be scared of admitting that you can't afford something.
Many people are embarrassed to admit that they can't afford a fancy meal out or a nice car - their friends have it why shouldn't they. Don't fall for this trap - if you are in debt you cannot afford luxuries - and if your "friends" think less of you for it - find some new friends.
Don't try to hide the real financial situation from the rest of the family.
If there is a looming financial crises in your family talk to the whole family about it. Yes including the kids. They can do their part as well and you will be teaching them good financial habits for the future. Much better for them to see you budgeting rather than using one loan to pay off another. Or worse them being totally unaware of the value of money because you never discuss it!
